About the university

Alte University is a private university in Tbilisi, Georgia, with four schools — Business, International School of Medicine, Law and Social Sciences, and Information Technology — and nearly 3,000 students from 50 countries. It operated for about 20 years as Tbilisi Open University before rebranding to Alte University in late 2021; UniRank records its establishment as 2002. It is not the former Georgian-American University, which remains a separate institution with its own WDOMS listing. Numbeo estimates a single person's monthly costs at about GEL 1,719 excluding rent; a one-bedroom city-centre flat averages GEL 1,874/month (GEL 1,197 outside the centre) and an inexpensive restaurant meal about GEL 28.
