No “NMC-approved list” exists — recognition is criteria-based.
criteria-based (FMGL 2021) — confirmed per university, never a guarantee. To practise in India you must also clear the FMGE (or NExT once active) and complete a 12-month CRMI internship. Listed in WDOMS (F0002693, verified 2026-06: search.wdoms.org/home/SchoolDetail/F0002693). Choose only the 6-yr (72-mo), English-medium programme with same-institution internship; avoid 5-yr/transfer tracks. No NMC 'approved list' exists (FMGL 2021) — validity is criteria-based.
NEET-qualified (for admissions on/after May 2018 the NEET result itself is deemed the Eligibility Certificate — Gazette 01.03.2018, per the NBEMS FMGE bulletin); program must meet FMGL 2021 (54-mo, English, same-institution internship).
A listing in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) is a directory entry only — by itself it is not recognition, accreditation, or endorsement by the NMC or WDOMS. It is one of the FMGL-2021 criteria, not a guarantee.

Hostel & accommodation
CIU's official international-student pages do not mention any university dormitory; its 'Living and Dining' guidance points students to private rentals, noting Tbilisi living is relatively cheap, Airbnb stays start around US$15/night, and recommends areas outside the city centre. Restaurant meals typically run 20–25 GEL (US$7–9). For context, Numbeo lists a one-bedroom apartment at about ₾1,197/month outside the centre and ₾1,874 in the centre. Treat housing as self-arranged private accommodation and confirm current options with CIU's international office before travel.

Numbeo estimates single-person monthly costs at about ₾1,719 excluding rent. Georgia has become a major MBBS destination for Indians: Indian students made up 55% of non-resident university students in 2024–25, with over 37,000 foreign students in the country, around 91% in healthcare programs. From 2025–26 Georgia stopped new foreign admissions at state universities, but this does not affect private universities such as CIU.

Graduate outcomes

CIU runs an in-house USMLE Step 1 Preparation Program (100 GEL per module, waived for CIU students with GPA 3.0+). No official CIU-specific FMGE/NExT pass-rate data was found; Indian licensing recognition is criteria-based and should be assessed against current NMC regulations.
